Power Bank Project
Location
University of Plymouth
Project type
3D modelling and production
This project was developed in response to one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: Responsible Consumption and Production. It explores the idea of repurposing discarded disposable vapes by reimagining them as a new, functional product rather than waste.
The outcome of this project is a low-cost power bank, created by salvaging lithium-ion batteries from disposable vapes and wiring them in series to a PCB with an integrated BMS (Battery Management System). By extending the life of these components, the project aims to highlight the potential of reuse-driven design as a practical approach to reducing electronic waste and encouraging more responsible consumption.
